Zage arrives at a cliff overlooking a great lake in the distant mountains.

This is would be a scene part-way through the first level of this Flash game, titled "Zage and the Gemstone Castle".  It would be the first in a series about this little character, Zage, and his adventures.

I thought maybe it could be a "pixel joint collaboration" if anyone here would be interested in working on it together.

Beautiful. The colors of environment: tree, grass and water appear too saturated.
I like the mountains and the sprite.

Adarias:  I sorta lost steam on this one after spending so much time on the background and the character, so I rushed the rest of it a bit, but I was actually pretty happy with how the tree turned out considering.

Asukicco:  I intended him to be looking off to the side into the distance somewhere, not at the camera directly, but I can see how it looks that way.

the background, grass, and character rock, but what's up with the rocks and trees?  nowhere near the same sensitivities.

Really great, but the character should not look in to the "camera", but on his right IMHO...

Vertigo:  You're right about the pillowshading--I did a rush-job on the rocks and tree to finish this.  I was especially frustrated with the shading on the rocks.

Redshrike:  That's funny you should mention the saturation on the tree and lake, cuz originally they were quite desaturated during the whole time I spent making this, and finally, I tried tweaking the saturation overall higher, and I thought it was an improvement, but you're right, they should be toned down.

Larro4, Perski, Zephiel87:  Thanks, I started detailing with the mountains/background, so I spent the most amount of time on that.  I was suprised--it turned out better than I thought it would.

Pandora:  Thanks.  I am curious what you mean by "matching the style of the setting" though...  Could you clarify?  I thought the shading of the character was consistent with the background shading/style.

The character and sky are amazing! The foreground rocks and tree look pillow-shaded :S

Redshrike (Level 1 Rookie) at 4/4/2008 5:51:53 AM
This is great, but some parts of the background are too saturated.  The browns of the tree and the blues of the lake could both use some desaturation (especially the lake; after all, it should only blue from reflecting the sky above)  Still, great stuff!

Awesome Mountains! I think it has potential.

Perski (Level 2 Quiet One) at 4/4/2008 1:33:03 AM
Mountains in background looks awesome :)

I don't like the dithering on the rocks, and it could use a bit more contrast in areas.
Background is awesome.

This is awesome! My only complaint is that the character doesn't seem to match the style of the setting.
