It's a first part of the game boy mockups serie I'm making. This one was completed rather quickly (in a spare time at work so it's no wonder:) 4 frames. I'm not sure if it fits in restrictions (character is pretty big for example).

It took me a minute to figure out that animation ... but it's still very nice! Agree with the popular sentiment about hard to play (might be). good work!
Thanks for comments everybody. That static sky would be upper frame squeezing the screen together with lower bar. Part of the screen connecting with it would always be coloured darker/equal and without texture. And it would move along with the screen thus remaining static. Opposite directions are for fun:) Actually wind couldn't be correct unless the character had diffrent idle in diffrent directions=) About readability I suppose I should use white as a character's base colour rather then its light but making-eyes-white habit decieved me:)
Wanna play it. My only complaint is the static sky at the top doesnt make sense. Well neither does the water going in the opposite direction of the wind :)
The pallette is delicious. I love GameBoy stuff. Not sure about the restrictions either, as you have quit a lot of big objects on the screen at once. Good stuff, though. Looking forward to the next ones in the series :)
the display is great, although the letters would probably be hard to read on a small screen, and with the animated background, if this were a fast-paced game i could see players having a hard time whats going on.
