its just got such a nice texture to it, good example how dithering can do that for your picture (and not just a cheap way to conserve colors!) good color usage. And throwing white outlines around things definitely keep em in style :D. Woulda beena good showcase peice for like one of the earlier mario brother games or something.

The dithering is awsome. I like the idea and the overall coloring.
One crit. The shroom should cast a shadow on the stem. If you fix that, this peice would be awsome.
Great job so far though.
