I would be risking repeating myself if I would underline how much sense your suggestions make, iLKke. unfortunatly, as I'm running against the clock by now, I will have to postpone these changes till the workflow calms down. Btw, I also had a smooth background for this guy, that helped a lot the compo's impact. I'll have to get to it later.
Very interesting dithering method! It works really great on the apron, giving it a nice fabric! The counter is maybe too textured with dithering. You can prolly use just one or two strips of shading there. Then again, maybe it's just your style. Also you could have used some of the grays to make eyes and teeth stand out from the skin tone. Plus, ear and sideburns are bit too far from the face. As usual, these are just suggestions ;D
Thanks Darth, I've been trying to develop certain shading techniques, and that lead me into something quite 3D-ish. One could say that this was not a deliberate choice, but rather a coincidence ...like most things in life, perhaps.
another one from Arfff! You pixel a lot! I love the shading/detail around the mouth, really great job! The style feels very 3D and yet pixeled at the same time!
