Noticed the same error in the direction of the rays, specifically the one with the 45 degree angle. Should point more to the left.

Bugs me only if they're intended to be perfectly radial. Then again, as I always say, if you're going to make a mistake, you ought to make it big. Then it doesn't look like a mistake anymore. ^_^

I think it's simply the white/red balance being off (too much white).

Also, and sorry for the constant crittacks, but also, the rays aren't emanating from the central circle radially. It bugs me, but probably no one else.

Nice! I like that you didn't go nuclear saturation with the red.

The AA definitely needs some work. If you're only using one color for AA, try choosing one that's exactly midway between your two bases. Right now it's much closer to white. And remember to lengthen your AA on long, gentle slopes.

I'm not sure I'm a big fan of the orange sun inside. I think the red alone is enough. All that said, good work; keep it up! :D

EDIT: Oh oh oh and if you're going to use a silhouette for the city, I wouldn't shade it. Either render it fully or not at all, you know?
