I've wanted to try platform style graphics for a while, and thought I should start with something fairly simple.
Thanks to my brother for wanting every game to be Redneck rampage, and telling me so, and to Darth Mandarb for the help with drawing clouds in the past.
Yes, it is meant to be a redneck version of Mario who collects beer. I still cannot stand the piggy. I hope to do better platform style graphics in the future.
EDIT: Looks like somebody has already got the music for the game covered:

Saboteur - Yes, I know. Didn't want to go too over the top RR style though - wanted to keep it fairly Marioesque.
Darth - You know I love these clouds :D. The tree is really the only part with AA but it looked so rough without it that I had to put it in there. I've never been a big fan of tiles either, or Mario, but I thought it would be fun to try.
A tangent line is when two lines are touching... or are hardly overlapping each other (it isn't very pleasing to the eyes in art). The tree should be pulled away from the tile creating an actual space.
There should basically be a space between the right leaves on the tree and the ground tile it is overlapping. Or make the overlapping more defined by pushing it over more.
Quite a few changes in this edit: - Adjusted clouds to be more dispersed and hopefully solve negative space issue -Made piggy bigger and lighter -Added more balloon colours and a "This is really hard to get without falling in the ditch" jug o' moonshine powerup -Added more gui things -Adjusted tree shading (not sure if this is better or not)
Thankyou for your comments. Dumbo - could you clarify what you mean by the tree creating a tangent line please?
I like this piece. Although there are a few art rules that you broke here. One is the tree's creating a tangent line with the tile set. There should be a clear space between the two. The other one was said before... you have to much negative space going on up top. Do as flyguy said, or just add some clouds here and there to break that up. Because the eye goes to the empty space. When it should be focusing on the actual scene.
The tree trunk is pretty neat. I think the pig is a little to small. And maybe you could raise the clouds a little to fill out the image some more, there is a lot of blank space in the top middle portion of this picture. Good job though.
