nice - have some good details, but I agreed with blink that must put your patience in smaller piece with many details ... will wait next piece ;)

I like this piece alot but I also agree that it can be worked on a bit more and become an awesome piece. It looks like you got lazy in the end especially with rocks on the righter side by the snow. The under belly of the snow looks hapharzardly detailed. That pointy cliff really bothers me as well. I've never seen snow be so pointy like that.
On a plus note, I think the colours really compliment eachother. It's very easy on the eyes :) I like the details on the wood especially... a cartoonish but realistic look which is great.
Again, I think if you put some more time into the smaller details that everyone has mentioned, this could be a great piece and a crowd favourite.
The snow itself does not bother me as much as the part were the cliff meets the sky and sea. It just looks wrong, unnatural. The sea is too flat for such a piece. A tip for the aurora looking at images I googled, is that at the bottom the aurora use a light yellowish green as a highlight. That should jazz it up a bit. And since there is a telescope in the scene, maybe add some (or a lot ) of stars. Good luck.
OK I don't want to sound to harsh, but I don't think this is ready to be submitted yet...You took up the challenge of making a big piece, I know it's extremely hard adding detail at such a large scale, but if you are going to make something this size it shouldn't get in the way of quality.
The main problem I see is the snow. The detail on the wood and the rocks is amazing, but the snow just looks sloppy and haphazardly done. The Aurora Borealis effect you seem to be aiming for seems to be far more simplistic than it probably should be. Also there are a lot of jaggies which could do with some AAing.
This has the potential to be really amazing, but at the moment it's just sitting on a 'good'. I look forward to seeing this pushed to the next level, it really is a piece that could end up as something incredible.
