I want to play this game! Just looking at it gives me the good kind of shivers.

Wow, if only a game like Crystal Caves had graphics this good when it came out... coulda shown those Amiga snobs a thing or two with EGA powah! (No offense intended to the awesome Amiga snobs on here. You people rock too. :))

Well, I drew him small because it's easier to animate, but he probably looks even smaller against a dark background because of the black border, and his outfit is also a bit dark and similar to the background. How about a red overall instead? http://www.retinaleclipse.com/cavernmups2.gif That would work better for the current setting, at least. I might try something more volcanic later on, but I'll worry about that when I get there.

Oh, you're right about the worms, neota. I'll have to make them a bit slimmer and give them more of an s-shape.

7/8 (-1 point for the little red worm that I find fairly unreadable -- it looks more like a warped cactus (ie. needs a more actiony pose))

I quite like this, nice and vibrant little thingies everywhere.   The only thing that bothers me a bit is the character's size, but I suppose the restrictions (which I don't know much about) are to blame.

your ability to create awesome retro mockups is matched by no one. I think the BG let's this one down a bit (compared to the other ones) but shit, the jewels alone are enough for me to fav. this.
