Printed this out for my group and they really liked the designs!

AirStyle (Level 5 Assistant Manager) @ 11/21/2011 17:34

Yeah, sorry about that. I was looking to see if someone asked about it after I put it down here, and didn't see it until you pointed it out. (and only 3 posts down! wow...) Too bad about the gfx-theft, though. Glad you were able to get your name into the credits.

@AirStyle: Just read the earlier comments, man

AirStyle (Level 5 Assistant Manager) @ 11/20/2011 00:28

Did you happen to do the art for the Vox Populi Werewolf game? This werewolf looks just like the one in that game! It was fun, but short.

user
failureboy (Level 7 Assassin) @ 9/30/2011 00:55

 awesome

user
iLKke (Level 9 Nidan) @ 6/12/2011 23:54

@8bb: Actually the guy who made that game just took the gfx without asking! Someone here on PJ pointed it out to me, and then we agreed that he should just put my name in the credits and settle it.

user
8BitBeard (Level 4 Shichikyu) @ 6/9/2011 00:11

I love this, big fan of the simplicity.

It actually reminds me of a little game where you played a werewolf that was going around some time in the past...now if I only had that link....ahh there it is!

ahh now I see you actually worked on this game. Cool, really liked it.

avo (Level 7 Mass Murderer) @ 10/20/2010 12:08

I like those werewolves, they are just great. Though all others are cool too, werewolves are just too cool

user
iLKke (Level 9 Nidan) @ 10/19/2010 07:33

Werelock is like a seer, but on the werewolf side. Each night he can see if someone is a regular peasant or not.

Half breed is either a human who looks like a werewolf to the seer, or the opposite, a werewolf that looks like a human to the seer.

The priest can pick one player to protect during the night. That night, if the werewolves pick that player, he will survive. The priest cannot protect the sameplayer the next night, nor can he ever protect himself. Be aware that this upsets the bodycount progression of the game, tho.

user
7even (Level 8 Shodan) @ 10/12/2010 13:51

I really like to play it! But I didn't know about Half-breed or Werelock. What do they do in the game? And the Priest?

bojlahg (Level 4 Lieutenant) @ 9/2/2010 19:11

 good set!

I especially like the narrator! it's very creepy and atmospheric.

maybe it's the tophat? :P

user
iLKke (Level 9 Nidan) @ 10/27/2009 18:55

@GormenGhast: Nopes. The guy who made that game just used my gfx (without asking, duh!)

user
GormenGhast (Level 5 Detective) @ 10/21/2009 06:05

Are you the guy that did the Vox Populi, Vox Dei flash game? These are very reminiscent. Loved that game!

user
Roopfert (Level 1 Depressed) @ 4/19/2009 16:24

villager villager villager... lumberjack. villager. lol

user
iLKke (Level 9 Nidan) @ 3/21/2009 17:56

@mrmot: I have a printed set myself, and they proved to be popular with the crowd :D Have fun!

By the way, I'm thinking of maybe reusing some of the graphics for an online game experiment I plan to put up on my blog.

Mrmo Tarius (Level 10 Master Sniper) @ 3/15/2009 09:20

Omgfcuk amazing :D

I've played Werewolf for the first time a week or two ago (it was lots of fun, yay), and these cards... are omgfcuk :)

Will get printed, probably, I'd love to play a game or two (or ten) with them :)

@HtS: Yeah I know valhalla, and you are right, it's a great game in terms of originality but the gameplay is terribly slow. Good idea for animating the cards, I might just do that! They were made for printing, so it never really occured to me :D
As for making a game, I've been trying to come up with a tiny rpg/adventure/sim concept to make in flash, but have yet to think of a satisfactory gameplay.

user
HawkTheSlayer (Level 4 Button Man) @ 1/26/2009 22:24

Graphically these remind me of an old speccy game called valhalla, a kind of text adventure with slight animation silouette characters, (Dwarf enters from the east, dwarf takes gold, Dragon enters from the north, dwarf poops his pants (That kind of thing!)) oooooooh man! that game was awsome and bad at the same time (if that's possible?)

Any way, these are great little silouettes and are desperately crying out for minimal animation! and possibly a game, even a platform romp would be great with these guys, but a little more adventure rpg would be awesome!

I'm loving the villager 2 with his big, handle bar moustache and villager 5, you wouldn't mess with that guy, but my fave has to be Werewolf 3, he's a bit odd, but in a good way.

Well done!!

Thanks for comments, ppl

@iSTVAN & Talos & AdamPlays: Yes, werelock is like a seer, it can sense whether a player is ordinary peasant or not. Lumberjack is like a hunter, he can kill one player as a revenge after he is eaten by werewolves. Little girl can peek at night (of course if she is seen the werewolves will pick her as the victim), and vigilante kills one player every night. Of course, he's on the peasants team, so he is trying to kill the bad guys. Priest and half breed differ from game to game, but usually the priest has the ability to protect one player for the night (he chooses before the  werewolves do) and the half breed can either be a wolf that looks human to the seer or a human that looks like a werewolf. Optionally he can instead pick a side at the beginning of the game. We also sometimes play with the village chieftain, who is elected by the others, and whose vote counts as two (or he has the ability to resolve 50-50 situations).
It's very tricky to add or modify chars cause it can disturb the pace of the game, but with the right crowd, you can playtest everything easily.

I have a bunch of original (and even playable) card games I've made. I might give them all a pixel art skin if I find the time :D

user
AdamPlays (Level 6 SWAT) @ 5/28/2008 09:20
What do all the specials do?  When I played this game we only had a seer.  I'm not familiar with these other ones.

user
iSTVAN (Level 8 Cannibal) @ 5/28/2008 08:02
Oh, and nice way of using the eyes to distinguish the Evil, Townsfolk and Special cards from each other.

user
iSTVAN (Level 8 Cannibal) @ 5/28/2008 08:00
My friends and I play this game pretty often. It can be really fun. We usually draw our own sets and have had lengthy discussions over the invention of new characters.
I'm assuming that the Priest is the same as the Sorcerer, with the ability to grant life and death once each, and that the Werelock is an evil version of this that works with the Werewolves. I had the same idea recently. I'll also assume that the Vigilante is the same as the Hunter in our game.
Does the Lumberjack have two lives or something, or is it just a Python-esque in-joke? No idea what the half-breed is.
We also play with a Cupid who chooses two Lovers at the start. The Lovers are then a separate team who work together. If one dies, the other does. So they try to protect each other.

Wow, lengthy comment, and I haven't even mentioned the art! I think maybe you should include a few female Werewolves, to even out the gender inbalance- not that I have a problem with the dangling knobs!

Larwick (Level 8 Regional Boss) @ 5/28/2008 06:04
Nice! I'll have to find out what the game is haha.

ahh yes...that explains it...I guess I'm not stalking you well enough ;_;

user
iLKke (Level 9 Nidan) @ 5/21/2008 03:42
2x is viewable, and 4x and up is printable, i think.
@skamocore: You might have seen the funny-moon-language (trademark by ptoing) version on my blog.

user
skamocore (Level 11 CEO) @ 5/21/2008 02:55
I'd probably say 4x if these were supposed to be printed out and used as cards

...and where have I seen these before...did you post them on pixelation or something ?

user
Metaru (Level 8 Brigadier General) @ 5/21/2008 01:46
this was made for 2X indeed.
