I never got on with the Pikmin games but I liked the garden / overworld bits - so this is a kind of tribute, although I only got the idea to stick the Pikmin in near the end... I used this photo I took for reference. Lots of freehand thrashing about with the mouse to get the shadows and reflections in the water. It's pretty messy and could do with tidying up but I'm happy with how it looks and to be honest I'm tired of staring at it!

An absolutly beautiful piece if not for the pkimin, but they do add an air of cuteness and silliness nonetheless.

Yeah, the Pikmin all look a bit... stoned or something. I messed about with their eyes for a while trying to work out how to do them but this was the best compromise I could come up with with the size.

Awesome, I love pikmin the game, I do have to say they look just a tad bit weird in this pixelart. What I want to know is how the pikmin got out there, cause mine always died when I took them in water.

honestly if you removed the pikmin I could get this confused with a photo on glance. The lines on the log and water are impeccable.

Love those pikmin! They do seem a little out of place though. The purple one should be fatter. Also the shadow for the purple one and the red one seem to be going in opposite directions? Or is it just me.

I think the pikmin take away from the composition but add to the humor of the piece.

Yeah, the Pikmin could be worked on a bit to make them blend in more. I reckon the blue and the white ones worked out the best because they're actually involved in the environment instead of just stood around. Now I look at it again there's no reflections for the reeds either (!) but for some reason it's less noticable...

I like it, it's nice. I think the "pikmin" (not sure what that is) are a bit more saturated than the rest of the piece. It makes them look added onto the top. I really like the background, though.
