My first real sprite I attempted. Took me forever to remember back to the time I played Pokemon and remember what the sprite looked like.

I dissagree. In my opinion, and the opinion of the site - what you've done would be considered a sprite edit, and a slight one at that. There are communties for specifically that all over the web if you wanna look for them.
I know you understand where you've gone wrong now though, so i won't go on about it. Best of luck with your up and coming works. The forum is there if you need help with a specific work-in-progress piece. Welcome to PJ. :)

I didn't realize how close I actually got it to the original. My bad on that. I believe, though, that that is the purpose of pixeling besides enjoyment, etc. It's trying to get it as close to the original as possible while still adding your own touch to it.

This is the welcome you are going to get when you break the rules, it's simple. I'm not trying to be mean to you, i'm just doing my job.
I found the sprite by typing 'ruby sprites' into google images and finding this image at the bottom of the page. It's not from the ruby game, apologies for my ignorance, it's from the fire red and leaf green versions. Does this make a difference? No. If you had been willing to admit it you would have corrected me before.
I'm glad you'll try more original things next time. Even if you did make it on your own it isn't gallery-suitable.

With all due respects, Larwick, Mr21 has known me for more than a year. Also, you don't know what you're talking about if you're comparing this sprite to a Ruby one. The Ruby one is completely different... it took me less than 30 seconds to find that out. I am not low enough to take someone else's artwork and credit myself with it. I will try more original things next time, but I did make it on my own and this isn't a great welcome to an open pixelart community.

MR21, you mustn't know him well enough, or are lying. Placing this next to the real Ruby sprite it's blatently obvious it's an edited rip. Whether intentional or not.

KGladiator, try something original. It may have taken you 'forever' to remember what the thing looked like - it took me 30 seconds to find it on google. You're warned.
