This animation will probably involve steam and/or burst effects to show that the rustbug is pushing off the ground via a jet as well as through leg power. Therefore the jump height will vary, the player will be able to ajust the position during the jump, and doublejump will be enabled.

I re-used alot of other sprite parts for this, but also did alot of editing etc to get it looking good.

 I dunno, in some ways I like this one better. I like the legs and the color more in this one, I think. The new one's better in its own ways, too.

By the way, I'd only noticed this was so old after I'd posted. Obviously I've been browsing your gallery :P. A lot of your stuff is finding it's way into my favorites.

Thanks guys.
Made another update focusing on the landing, with help from Squirrelsquid. There's a bit of idle animation at the start to separate the jump and fall.

Oh BlackDragon i totally get what you mean! Maybe i'll fiddle with that idea another time.
@Dumbo: Tbh the original purpose of this animation was to show the leap, not the landing (should have said really) but i added one of the falling frames (as a simple copy and paste) just so it looked presentable. Now that i've worked more on that side of things i guess i should add a landing too, but not right now. :)

Cool.

I have a bit of a problem with the way his legs are positioned ("hanging") in the air. It seems too uniform and mechanical, and even though its suppoed to be a tank it looks a bit odd. Perhaps, the RustBug leans over a bit so one leg will hit the ground first, the others following?

Thanks everyone. I made an update with help from you guys and Souly.

@Gumby: I don't see that happening so i can't fix it. D:
@TBOB: Are you sure? I didn't want the animation to be too long you see. The jets will hopefully excuse the 'weak' jump. I did however lengthen the pose before takeoff by a bit.
@AB: Shaking is hopefully fixed.
@nvision: Completely changed the falling frame, hopefully it's better.

Looks great to me...nice sense of weight.  I think it should definitely fall at a faster rate than it rises, seeing as it's working against gravity.  More recoil on the landing, perhaps towards the gun (at there's more weight at that end), might make it perfect.

It shakes a little when it's in the air, and it falls a little too fast. Try decreasing the shaking and make the amount of frames in the jump equal to the amount of frames in the fall. Apart from that, I think this is pretty good.

I think it's not giving enough recoil before it boosts up. I'd add about 2-3 more frames focusing on the preparation of the jump, before popping up in the air.

I'm not sure if it's on purpose or not, but while in the air, there are two pxiels in the far back leg that blink unfilled in for a second.

Excellent piece. I love it.
