I also think the hut is too blocky. . . and since it uses all four palette entries so freely, it appears kind of copy-pasted from another dimension. I love the forest, however, and really hope to see all this in a game some day! pozdro!;p
ILKke: Thanks for pointers. I think chaos makes it less uniformed and doesn't make it unreadable. About the house - I wanted to fit him in not so many tiles while making door big enough for someone to actually enter them (which doesn't mean I shouldn't make them better:P
I like your gb mockups. This one is also nice but maybe the textures are a bit too chaotic and everything has similar brightness. Grass could be darker than the path, for example. Don;t really like the house, rest is quite good.
