My first submission and actually my first pixelart that feels ok. I am not an artist, just learining as I go. This was drawn by guidelines found in comic book how-to book. (yeah)
Please tell me what you pros think about it.

Thanks man! Yeah, I still need a lot of practice. I'm not good at shading. I see other people can make wonders with shading... I understand all this about light position and where it's coming from and all, but I just can't make it look that good. Practice, practice, practice... my mother says.
Thanks for pimping my pixels, I look into it some more.
Well, the first thing you should take into account is the shading. Your lightsource is coming from the top, so the shadows should follow suit and look like they're being caused by the light. Next, you need more contrasting shades. You have 4 visible shades of green; a highlight, a base, a shade, and the outline. But, you have another shade you can barely see. You'd either want to make it easier to see or not use it, because it doesn't add to the piece when you can't see it.
Another thing you should take into account are the colors you're using. I'm using Vista so I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like you base green and your base red are default Paint colors, which you don't want to use. You want to use your own palette. Also, you should try and add depth to it. Right now its just a creepy green guy staring blankly at the screen, when you can convey emotion with its facial expression.
I hope that helped. Also, I edited it to try and show you what I meant by all of that. :)
I don't know much about colors and proper shading. I've found few good tips on the forum yestrday. If you could direct me some more, I'd be most grateful.
