I'm not usually a fan of blobs, but this one's pretty cool.

I like the way the eyes kind of lag behind. Gives a nice cartoony feel.

I think you're not taking full advantage of this animation though... you could speed up the ascent and descent to emphasize the speed of the drop. Right now the frames all move at the same speed, so it seems pretty boring.

Oh, and an edit: The shadow inside the blob would logically disappear when it leaves the ground, since it's not 'pressed' against anything anymore. It should also gradually get smaller as it stretches off.
