well it took me long enough but i took your suggestion of adding a strong light from the gun blast, and it turned out great. i wanted to improve the gun recoil, but gimp was being screwy. i'll probably get around to that later though

The blast from the gun should throw a strong light on Master Chief when the gun fires.  Recoil would also improve this piece.
