Yeah, much better! Now to make it more interesting you can add any background, make a story around it or whatever else.
There is way to go but it is better.
You use shadows if they needed.

ok i wil make it better but if you dont use dithering on the blade you still use shadows or not?
1. Anti-aliasing with grey works only on white background and by rules of PixelJoint (seen when you submit pic) you should not use white background because it burns eyes (damn!!).
2. Even with other backgrounds it is not useful to anti-alias OUTSIDE of outline if you use outline.
3. Dithering (checkmate placing of pixels) creates texture. On handle it useful, but blade not.
