"Corovan" is a local meme. This meme originates from a letter addressed to the editor of a game magazine. It contained a request from a guy named Kirill (probably a very under-aged one) to make a game of his liking. He stated a  bunch of typical fantastic demands, like full realism, true AI, great story, a crazy mix of genres and a vast world. And to emphasize his great idea he finished his letter with phrase "you can rob corovans". Yes, with grammar like that.
So this phrase is a meme in game developing area now. A game where you cannot rob corovan is not good enough to even start making it.  Every new announced project soon get a comment with a question like:  "Can we rob corovans there?"
At that time, there where no games where you can actually rob a corovan. (And obviously all games were bad and unworthy) And I've decided to made this piece as a promo to some unexisting project and claim that project to be the best of the best.
So thats the story. Thanks for reading it. :)

I think one of your greatest strengths is your ability to produce true-to (and better than) life colors in your pieces.  They make me feel life I'm actually in the picture.

good work, i have trouble with ground textures like sand so im jealous.. haha.

Wow! I liked this a lot because of its colors, but than suddenly the background started moving! Amazing!

Only the dunes on the far should be moving (but slower) too maybe. However this would give you twice as much frames... still this is very  nice work!

This is cool, but the fact that both the background and the camel's bodies are stationary and the slow movement of the legs make it seem like the ground is moving rather than the camels.

guess we can't rob the corovans of this animation.

I think it's a pity the dunes at the horizon don't move... I know it would add to the number of frames significantly, but it would really make it more realistic. Plus, I would have made the camel move up and down a bit, or some kind of swinging forward and backwards motion in the body of the camel.

But I shouldn't really be too critical, I'm not that much of an animation expert. I found it more difficult than I thought it would be when I made a sprite, so I can only give this the highest rating I can give it

lol, what a nice story :-D
what area is this where you come from?

I have to agree with everyone else. This is unpleasant to look at unless it has a 2nd scrolling background. I would even make the sun throb a little, and the dithered layers of the sky wave back and forth, this way you can really FEEL the unforgiving heat of the desert.

I like this a lot though..Good work on the art. AA would be really nice on this though.

It seems to look like hes moving faster than the ground is moving

Very good i like the idea.

This looks great! Maybe you could add some movement to the sand dunes in the far background, giving it a parallax layers look.

No, it's not resent. It's pretty old. You could've seen it on DA or wayofthepixel.

I could swear I've seen this one before. Is this one of your recent works? I like the sprites and the bg but - as mentioned before - some parallax bgs would really improve the piece a lot.

Coolness factor improved by remembering me of the legendary camel c64 games (sadly no caravan raids in that game).

for me have 3 problems:
first is back leg which is to me, second is shadows, third is animation of the camel and she look as limp a bit  /maybe frame timing of animation isn't good/ ...

BG isn't problem because easy can make it slow/fast when put in flash also easy can add another layer as Frost say.

Of course I like work :)

Also I wait ISO buildings to come in PJ :)

Very nice scrolling animation.

Really fluent :]

user
Frost (Level 6 Serial Killer) @ 8/28/2008 11:26
Another layer with scrolling dunes (like paralax scrolling) would make the animation to have much more depth. Besides that It's pretty good.

Darth Mandarb (Level 10 Operative) @ 8/28/2008 11:02
lovely animation ...

the motion is (as mentioned) a bit too fast for the apparent speed of the camels, but it's still very nice indeed!
