Gorgeous! But the head and body are so stiff! The circles on his back (ie the body segments) don't move with the legs, so if you look at where they join especially its really jerky. The head would be nice to swing from left to right slightly as he goes. Finish it up, its too good to leave as-is!

I'd love to see you do some more sprites in this thick juicy style so we can see how you'd render other shapes and stuff. I'd really like to give it a study.

The joint of the legs with the balls of the body looks odd moving, but no one noticed xD

I still think the only advantage to the pre-rendering is that they could pull off Mega Mario without tons of memory waste.

Absolutely perfect animation. If only they did a new mario game in this style as opposed to crappy 3D rendered graphics I'd buy two copies just to prove the point.
