Thank you all very much for your comments. I agree with you about the high color count and I assure you this is something I'm constantly trying to improve in my work. It's just not that easy as I thought. But still, my very first pixel-art (that jellyfish-spongebob-thingy in my gallery) had 110 colors. For this one I used 56. I guess that could be considered a proof of progress... XD
As for the shading -- that was maybe the main reason for me to join "Pixel Joint". This site is consisted of nothing but great pixel art I can only learn from. The 50x50 pattern looks indeed kinda flat, as The B.O.B. said, but it's the only one I know for the time being. Hopefully, with lots of experimenting, in time, I'll be able to fix that too... =D
I too am surprised by the color count (not because I mind a lot of colors but because this has the look of less colors, that's all!)
Great work, hope to see more of your stuff!

Finally, a hi-res digital artist who has a better understanding and transition to pixelart! Majority of hi res artists tend to fill their new found pixel art pieces with a boat load of colors, as they don't quite understand the point of "restriction." Although it still kinda' shows here, it's not too big a problem. This piece can easily be optimized to 16 to 30 colors, as there are several close, unneeded colors in your current palette. Also, don't be afraid to go outside the realm of the standard 50x50 dither patterns! There are other dither patterns that may help smooth the clouds out much easier, for softer texture. In fact, dither doesn't even have to be used in some places, as "flat" shading can be as aesthetically nice as dithering. Plus, dithering can give pieces a rough texture, so be careful where you use it.
Bah, just rambling...loved it over at Deviant art, as well as your other pieces. Good job. : )
