Kitty avatar for Pixelation. Portrait of my second kitty, named 'Black Thing'. Slightly larger color count than usual, and a few specifically 'stupid' ramp decisions.

Does your cat really have ears like that? The pic should be set against a lot darker background for all the nice bits to be visible. Maybe I just use the crappiest PJ skin :D Really like the paw animation.
I fell in love with this avatar when scruffs first showed me it a while back. A very could-be-ugly cat became very lovable with the colors and smooth animation. Great paw work as well, really adds an otherwise unseen sense of depth.
24 colours or not, its an adorable piece ^^ Those extra colours make it what it is :) i love its eyes the most, they are like glass almost, and the animation is really smooth
This was made after a long pixel hiatus (well besides edits for pixelation) and I wanted to do it in the 'dumb' way, on purpose. I usually don't add colors that cannot be differentiated at 1x or 2x zoom, but I did here. I usually don't use straight ramps. But I did here. I usually don't overaa, but I did here. I am not sure if there is a 'reason' for this as there is a mentality behind it. I really like it is now, though there's much 'wrongness' about it.
I will admit that I was a bit shocked at the colour-count for a pretty much solid black kitten. essentially most of these colours were spent on AA, which is a bit pointless in my opinion - the eye hardly notices colourful AA as one does fill colour.
noticed some near-identical colours as well... wouldn't have noticed unless zoomed 4x in
