Work for cellphone game. A more colorful version of this with the tiles crunched a bit down was eventually used. Doing water tiles without opacity is a pain. I enjoy the ambience though!

Your color theory here is wild. I've been looking at this at 300% for like half an hour just analyzing it.

Amazing work man.

Drea (Level 7 Teleporter) @ 2/11/2021 19:02

Cool textures

karakenio (Level 3 Private Eye) @ 6/8/2019 00:41
Is there a chance you can find out what happened to this game?
How is called?
I would love to play it, thanks

pixelcharpi (Level 2 Hired Gun) @ 10/21/2017 08:48

punpcklbw (Level 3 Chief) @ 3/3/2016 16:29

Very impressive stuff...

Helm (Level 5 Detective) @ 2/24/2016 02:37

No, I didn't (it's a png as far as I can tell). This is also close to ten years old. Please don't call people cunts.

JeffSturmann (Level 3 Sergeant) @ 2/21/2016 07:08

Everytime i see some kiddo from this generation shit about "pixel art is shit. it'll disappear soon", i remember this piece and notice how wrong that cunt is.

Note: man, why did you save the image as a JPG image? T.T

feiss (Level 5 Detective) @ 11/30/2015 11:34

This palette is amazing, the stones have such subtle and rich tones.. Wonderful job!

TheoVision (Level 8 Regional Boss) @ 3/9/2011 16:16

You did read my mind Stickman - Rick Dangerous was also popping in my head seeing this marvelous piece!

Stickman (Level 7 Sheriff) @ 12/9/2009 12:03

Nice. Like a high res version of Rick Dangerous.

Heavy Stylus (Level 1 Rookie) @ 11/12/2009 02:18

What game was this used for?  The style looks similar to the prototype I've seen of your new Umlaut Games project.

Love the cthulhu style squid head statues :)

Toad (Level 1 Depressed) @ 9/18/2008 08:17
Very ancient egypt nice

TomF (Level 2 Flatfoot) @ 9/18/2008 01:17
These are awesome. I always love the detail and sexy colours you put into your work.

schrumpfkopf (Level 4 Team Leader) @ 9/17/2008 12:38
i like this a lot - i find nothing wrong about the water, it looks cold and the gradient gives a feel of depth. also i like the warm/cold-contrast between the light / statues and the tiles.

Kaiseto (Level 6 Made) @ 9/17/2008 12:33
It's absolutely superb. I love the palette.

KwIjL (Level 5 Captain) @ 9/17/2008 01:23
I like the dark colors :D

Helm (Level 5 Detective) @ 9/15/2008 17:28
Big brother, just the Jones-alike dude jumping you saw, but I am adverse to posting a whole moveset.

big brother (Level 11 Admiral) @ 9/15/2008 12:57

My panties just got moist.

Do you have any sprites for this?

macula (Level 6 Hitman) @ 9/15/2008 08:10
Wow what great textures.

iLKke (Level 9 Nidan) @ 9/15/2008 05:03
Gold is a nice contrast to the rest of the colors. Some tiles just don't make much sense tho, and look more like from a block stacking game. Also, water should be a lot darker to sit well, imo.

shmupstick (Level 7 Sheriff) @ 9/14/2008 00:27
Lots of Gods about this. Or rather how Gods would have looked if Dan Malone would have done it.
Love it to death!

skeddles (Level 11 Sphinx) @ 9/13/2008 21:23
Great job, i'd love to play a game that looks this great.

HMC (Level 7 General Manager) @ 9/13/2008 20:00
This is excellent. I agree with the comments about the water, but the colors and the details on the stones are beautiful. Great work.

Helm (Level 5 Detective) @ 9/13/2008 19:36
I agree, the water should have definitely been darker, Indigo. I wish you'd have given me this critique when I was making it, heh. The company is the Russia-based as far as I can tell, Visual Media. He was wonderful to work with besides a bit of language barrier. Prompt on payment and specific in his revision suggestions. I am unaware of the current fate of the game, I made these about... a year ago.

Indigo (Level 2 Flatfoot) @ 9/13/2008 19:32
Very lovely tileset.  I think the water could have had a better effect being darker than the foreground tiles (to elude to being semi-transparent to the dark background tiles), but its pointless naming critiques since it has already been published.  Speaking of which - could you link to the company/game?

Darth Mandarb (Level 10 Operative) @ 9/13/2008 19:31
I love the torch light on the walls and I agree with you about the ambience.  The water is a little odd looking but as you said, with no opacity it's tough (still looks good though!)

great job
