The outer contour on the kanji looks a bit strange though.

Actually, yeah, I was thinking about making a background to make it look more like the scenes when you are drawing, and that scroll pops out of the left of the screen (and then add some AA in the outlines) =P

Too bad you hate okami, it's one of my favorite games =D

I think you should use AA on those outlines of the brush
