True be told, it IS pillow shading. Like I told RoboBOT, I was afraid of overdoing the middle tone, so I kept the shading close to the lines. I'll go through and rework that when I get time.
I felt that if I overdid the middle tone on the face, it'd look weird. I guess it looks weird anyways, since I didn't shade enough of it anyway. I plan on fixing a few other details this when I get time, so I'll be sure to work on the shading.
The shading on the skin bothers me, it looks kinda like pillow shading. You also may want to consider adding highlights. I do really like the hat though ^^
Hmm, I like the sketch a lot better than the PA. It seems like the shading is a bit off. The mid tones seem to just outline the dark lines, leaving a lot of flat area. The cheek and side of the nose is where I'm talking about. Also I'm not sure about the colors used for the eyes/eyebrows. The turban is very nice, though, I love the texture. The shirt is good, too. Overall, I like it, but the shading on the face needs a bit more work.
