I somehow missed this one. Wow. Love the design and colors, only crit is that the blade of the scythe blends into the bg and those crystal thingies are too amorphous and unfinished compared to the rest. Robe works for me, perhaps could use one more green highlight.

Not really a particular reason. I think it just gives a spooky, offworldly feeling :).Thanks for the comments people! :D

I do partially agree on the colours, but you know I usually have some pretty extreme contrasts and hue shifts.
This time I didn't want to do it since I thought it would make it too busy, and it would lose it's haunting feel.

I just browsed through your old pieces and now I wish I could improve as fast as you. Great piece technically. Though a bit too much colors for a nearly monochromatic piece. I suggest you to be a bit more daring at choosing colors. You seem to catch some really cool tones but you work with a bit limited hue and saturation range.

not to break balls, or anything, but I think his coat needs some smoothening. dithering or aa or something.everything else is very good, though :D

Ehi man, i really like this piece. Especially the character. I find the background a little strange for my taste. I mean, i prefer fire, burning skies, pain and suffering! But it's really nice and well done!
