http://uo.stratics.com/database/view.php?db_content=hunters&id=326 I think something to this effect is what he meant to link to.
Love the horse....the Ultima one is evidently a texture job...so it doesnt even come close to this one. About Zi's comment...that I can spot I would only say that the neck is far too arched back....it seems quite an unnatural pose for the horse...but on everything else it seems to be well done. Compared to the anatomy link you gave, yours clearly has much better posing....the one in the link has an almost rectangular angle where the back meets the neck
Double post::Nevermind...just checked your link and it seems completely appropiate for the game...I still do wonder if real horses arche their neck like that...
TRIPLE POST!! http://www.horseracinghistory.co.uk/hrho/images/education/horse_skeleton.gif aaand they do. sheesh =X
Hi zi-double. Thanks for your critique of the horsie.
Brown color: The reason it is this color was to remain consistent with the other skeletal beings in Ultima Online. They all use those same RGBs. Have a look: http://www.andrea.net/uo/general/art/pgc_skeletalsteed.shtml
Anatomy: You are right, there is something strange about the back of the neck. I didn't understand what you meant about the bone of the back leg, so I googled a horse skeleton and managed to find a pic in a similar position: http://www.fallingpixel.com/products/5656/mains/1.jpg After comparing, I still don't understand what the issue was. You are correct about the cheek being too big. But I have an explanation for that as well. If you look at my first link, you will see that this creature was meant to be a "mount" for players. So I wanted to make the head look a little more "approachable" and more like a living horse head so that the owner would feel some connection with it.
look at good and I like it, but just some thinks from me: need more brown for the bones, I'm not shure for anathomy of the front part behind neck, back legs look at poor because the middle bone must be with direction up to us, also can't see clear all parts of 5 bones for legs, the head have too big cheek.

Hehe Conzeit :). Well thanks for going to the trouble of investigating. Yeah these horsies are complicated critters!
