I've started working on the backgrounds for the Toxic Sonic game! The game takes place in several famous spots in Paris as the city is overrun by zombies. This is Pere Lachaise Cemetery, with the band members (our heroes) on the left and zombified Oscar Wilde standing in front of his ugly tomb over on the right. The word balloon is a gag on his famous last words as he lay dying in bed in a Paris hotel, "Either this wallpaper goes or I do." In the actual gameplay, the Oscar Wilde zombie will be hidden inside his tomb and the player may or may not figure out they can break it and set him free; it's a little bit of an Easter egg, and we're not even sure if we want to make the player fight Oscar as a miniboss or maybe he'll just give them some treasure and disappear. Anyway, the game design is going great! I'm barely able to crank out graphics fast enough to keep up with the programmer and the music/sound guy. We hope to be finished in about a week, and I'll definitely post a link!

A most excellent game.

Chances are, we might have already shared the same sidewalk :) I'll be moving to a new flat in February, from the South entrance (La Roquette) to the North entrance (Gambetta)... It seems I can't stay away from the graveyard.

Cool! I just moved from Pigalle (which you'll see in the game, in about a week) to the Marais (which is not in the game, unfortunately). I've never lived near Pére Lachaise but I've spent a lot of time there.

Awesome! ... I live and work only a few meters from Pére Lachaise's south entrance. It's funny to see my neighbours here!

Haha, I wish I'd thought of that! Those are just random pixels, but now I'm inspired to hide something in there...

What did you write in the top of the sees an easter egg there.

Definitely dig the style. Awesome job.

Thanks, everybody! The limited palette has been an interesting challenge; I thought I could do the whole game in maybe 16 colors, but here I am with about 38 already! And this is just a small slice of the whole game. I might try to reduce a bit before it's done...
