this is definitly NOT shit! I like it :) I like the colors, you chose. The black exhaust flame works well for this piece, although I would personaly avoid that. ( unless you want one of em spooky dark energy flames )
The hull itself looks a bit flat, with that rim light only. I think it would greatly benefit the overall looks if there where some harsh shadows and highlights, to improve the overall shapes.
From a design standpoint, I would say, that the Gun is poking out of the ships hull just a bit too much. A bit more phallic and closer to the hull would help the silhouette a lot, I think.
