It does have a pretty nice effect at 1x, so I think it worked out. Just looks very confusing when zoomed in 
@Phrozen: Trying to practice my dithering(probably too much, but otherwise the highlight on the raven looked horrible) I also decided to try make an actual background, rather than just transparency I thought the pattern was OK

The raven looks great but the dithering all across looks like a .gif conversion raped the colours 
This is great.
I like pencil dranw ravens, oil, water color, pixel and even charcoal, but I don't like the real ones. They are so mean! I have seen them attacking other lonely birds, pretty good size, but still too weak for 3 or four of these beasts!
