I recognized him! I think the resemblance would be a little stronger if the hairline came down one pixel and his right cheek (our left) came in one pixel under the cheekbone.

IMHO that dithering is making him older...try it without dithering :)

I don't quite understand why you dithered so much.  Stylistic choice?  I think it'd look much better without.  Not bad, but doesn't really resemble the ref.  The jawline should be much straight from the jaw (which should be wider, not just the chine) to the cheekbone.  He looks sort of old and saggy as-is.

OK, I fixed that as well as (his) left eye.
