I like the piece too. He has a lot of character. But as far as the challenge goes, it doesn't really fit. It's akin to bringing a motorbike to a cycling race.
Unfortunately it's too late to reconsider. I see your point Akira, and I agree that it is one of the better entries, but half of my decision was based on the inclusion of a background and how that might give an unfair advantage over the entries that followed the definition we were shooting for. The challenge could have been more clear, and I concede that the fault is not entirely plyvinyl's.
I never like sending back otherwise solid entries, but I got a second opinion from another mod (unfortunately there aren't many of us on at this hour), and this was our final decision. Once the challenge has been closed there's no going back.
yeah.... While this is an excellent piece, and the animation is great, the challenge called for a sprite. So (while I do love the piece and hate to do this) I'm afraid it doesn't qualify.
