This may not be as complicated as some pieces, but it was fun to make. I wanted to experiment with creating something and getting a point across using only two colors. So, using only blue and dark blue, (not counting the black frame) I created what you see here.
At the bottom, running off into a battle of some sort, is an old Roman hero. On his/her shield (ambiguous on purpose) is a robin, a symbol of courage. The sword is linked to a hawk, a symbol of Ares. Linked to the helmet is Athena, represented by an owl (surprisingly hard to display in this style @___@ ), and the shield is likewise linked to Hephaestus' symbol, an anvil. Between the lines and symbols, you have roman columns, suggesting that they are supporting something as you move from the bottom of the piece upward. Soon, you reach a section of three cracked and battered columns, and in the center is a flying skull. This represents evil and the damage it can do to society and the empire. Now we know why the hero is so well armed. Above this, when the hero overcomes and rises above the evil, we have a throne- but it lies empty, implying that conquest may lead to a fantastic reward.
Yes, just two colors. This was fun! 8D |
Nifty!
