The deadline is coming up fast and this is a bit rushed, but being rushed is a good challenge and often inspires creative problem-solving. I had an idea for this screen that I'd never tried before: I knew I wanted to use at least a little bit of hand-drawn art for the start screen to give it a more dynamic feel than the flat gameplay style, and as I was working on the three band members I had this idea to mix in some of the zombie sprites from the actual gameplay (re-shaded to be darker, to go with the spooky mood of this scene). Then I added some smaller zombies in silhouette behind them, and I think the three sizes for all the characters creates a nice layered feel for the whole piece. It felt a bit strange to mix the game artwork with the larger illustration-style figures, but I really like how it came out. I whipped up the background pretty quickly using some of the same designs for the buildings in the game, which I quickly re-drew at this smaller scale. This is actually the third Eiffel Tower I had to create for the game. You'll see why when the game is finished in a few days...

Hey PB's Boys, the game is a free online Flash game, and I'll be posting the link very soon! The game is done and we're just waiting on the French translation from the band. I'll post a new gallery piece with the link to the game when it's open to the public.

I really like the "ergonomy" of that menu. The hi-scores on the top and the game mode to the back, are very fonctional.
I like the composition of that illustration and the car ^^
Just one little think the hand of the girl is strange without thumb.

Merci! Mon francais est nul donc je ne peux pas repondre tres bien, mais j'espere que tu vas aimer le jeu! C'est presque fini! C'es clair tu vas rconnaitre beaucoup de choses parisian dans le decor au moins.

It is really good Mr Krull. Namely the buildings and zombie. I don't however like the quick shading on the characters, but I guess you had your limits.

Thanks! Right now the game is just going to be a Flash game on the band's website; it's just a promotional feature on the site and not a very serious game. I hope PixelJoint folks who go look at it won't be too disappointed that it's very short -- just one level -- and pretty easy; the idea is that the band WANTS everyone to be able to beat the game easily so they can win the downloadable song. I'm thinking of it almost more as an interactive piece of artwork than a game. I thought it was maybe way too easy but then when we tested it with people who never play video games, some of them couldn't finish it, so there's a way bigger range in people's video game playing skills than I would've thought! The folks on this site will find it insanely easy though, I'm sure.
