My first submission to any of the challenges. Was more or less looking for an excuse to dither. Im pleased with how it turned out, and Am looking forward to future challenges. Practice is good times.

The mood of this piece is incredible. I had a spooky tree like that outside my window when I was a kid, so I know the feeling.

Before finishing I tried a version without eyes, because in all honesty, I was thinking the same thing.
It was more subtle indeed, but it was also instantly less recognizable. With the Shape of the surface the shadow is cast on, Getting rid of the eyes, or mouth make it just look like random shadows.
