Oh, I think it's good work. My only crit would be how the blue and red don't work that well together, but with the palette restrictions there's not much you can do about that. I'm also seconding ManningKrull's "best pixel booty ever" nomination.
Regardless of whether I'm right or you're wrong, do the nay-sayers have anything constructive to say about the piece, other than you think it's a "silhouette"? My dearly departed horse is tenderized thoroughly enough, thank you very much.

@ everybody: this was MY decision and I made the call, so don't go around trying to cry "power trip" on others when it is not required. I made my points clear in the thread and there were also REFERENCE photos in case anybody had doubts. It is obvious to me that this was not up to the challenge requirements. I respect your own opinions and debates on this matter but, in the end, I deemed it not valid for this particular challenge.
Should anyone else have something to say, please feel free to pm me personally and I will address your issues.
Adarias, Darth Mandarb, ManningKrull, and big brother: THANK YOU!
Adarias, you nailed my point exactly. Well put.
ThereIsNoCure: You're basing your opinion of my piece on an idea you formed of an unfinished work? Wow...
I actually did research on shadows AND silhouette when pixelblink first piped in. My work and Jeremy's (which he should've entered as well) both feature shadows (but apparently not in your narrow definition of the word). I don't know if this is some noob initiation you guys are pulling, but I'm definitely not feeling the love. No moderators (nor vierbit, who posed the challenge) said my piece was breaking the rules.
Here's to hoping I use my two colors correctly in the next challenge...
Your argument would make perfect sense except for the fact that it is a cast shadow. That part is not subjective.
As you have assumed the role of an authority and yet are not treating that with any responsibility, I think you could use a little bit of patronizing. Forgive me if I've interrupted some trifling little power-trip of yours with my candor.
Adarias, go view the piece in the WIP thread for the earlier version before you get huffy. It's a matter of semantics, science has nothing to do with it. I'm not sure where you learned your narrow definition of silhouette, but you can check out the earlier version of this and see that it is in fact a silhouette.
Generally being informed about a subject is a prerequisite for making effective arguments, but when lacking, just take up a patronizing attitude and it'll even out.
Also, this isn't a democracy, so everyone can keep their votes. Don't spend them all in one place.
it's a cast shadow onto a translucent material. The light itself is not enough to silhouette because her upper body is clearly visible. Don't pretend you've rejected this piece for any scientific reason.
Generally being informed about a subject is a prerequisite for making judgments, and I'm curious about the process that led to neglecting that. I hope that in the future, such matters are more carefully examined.
This should have been accepted. It may [also] be a silhouette but it's still a shadow being cast from a light source and thus meets the rules/outlines.
However, arguing here is like pissing in the wind. No matter how valid your point is (and in this case you're right) it won't matter. Unfortunate too 'cause this might have squeezed in for one of my votes :)
Best pixel booty ever. I agree that this counts as a shadow, but as seen from the other side of the surface as one typically expects in a shadow. But I ain't no scientist, so maybe someone can correct me here...
For what it's worth, I really like the colors in your piece. The peach of the shower curtain gives the scene a warm, inviting mood and contrasts well with the lavender in the top third. I'd consider toning down the dithering on the tiles. The darker shade in the dither contrasts greatly, making the tiles seem rough. Coupled with the fact the darker color is warmer than the lighter shade, it pulls the tiles towards the viewer, confusing our reading of the depth a bit. Despite that, great work!
Well, let's use a little thing called democracy and let the voters decide whether the piece qualifies or not. I've seen stuff in the challenges in the past that I thought didn't "hit the target" on the rules. Did I complain about them? No, I just didn't vote for them.
Light source from window (check) Woman blocking light (check) Shadow of woman on shower curtain (check)
I don't see the problem, and there's nothing in the challenge rules stating where the shadow has to fall or on what medium it's cast. This is a valid submission and should be added to the voting page.

no shadow... just a silhouette. Pretty sure I warned everybody that was attempting this in the forum thread earlier.
