I thought Id do a pixelated take on a famous landscape (even though there's no land to be seen!) I decided on the great wave by Hokusai. I didn't add the boats and I left the background plain due to the 2 colour limit. The writing in the corner is aparently my name in Japanese. REF: The Great Wave, by Hokusai

I kept thinking there was three colors. Can't even see the fifty-fifty dithering on my monitor. (not because it's blurry. Maybe I should up the contrast)

No, I never traced it, i'll take it as a compliment. I used a side by side comparison to get as close as I could, but I never trace images, and Karuvin is what came up in the japanese name search I used, he he

This is really nice, almost too nice. Did you trace this? or at least part of it?

If you split the image in two parts, one being the crest of the wave and one being the bottom of the wave. Move them around as a semi-transparent layer over the original. They match up perfectly with the original by Hokusai.

If I am wrong, please take this as the ultimate compliment. However, If I am right, I think you should change your description to mention the tracing.
