Hey how did I miss this? This is some good stuff man, my fav parts are the big pillars on the 2nd shot and grass tiles on the 3rd, oh and the rock tiles too ;) Good luck with the project, can't wait to play it. :)

All very good. The middle screen is by far my favorite; the other two are well done as well. In the top screen, the chains seem a bit too AA'd and the blood looks very out of place. I recommend cutting down on the amount of colors there (or atleast contrasting them more) and the swordcloak reaper thing also seems to lack contrast. In the bottom shot, the spider blends in a little too much and the trees have kind of an awkward almost random seeming design to the bark - not to say that they look bad, just a bit off.
Thats all I really have to say for now, I guess.

The top 2 remind me of Super Mario World, and the bottom one reminds me of Zelda II. Nice job.

I want to play this!! Your tiles are beautiful, and those leaning columns in the background are great. The bones in the ground are an awesome touch. I think the clouds could be a bit puffier/rounder to go with the style of the rest of the elements here, and something strikes me a little weird about that sideways grass tile, like maybe the grass should be shorter for that, or it should be dirt. Excellent work, faved.

The backgrounds are some of the best stuff you've done, in my opinion. I'm especially fond of the second example, with the pillars.
