I like it, but I think the pirate flag and clothes are too similar in value. It doesnt seperate the pirate from the background very well, and kind of makes it seem like the pirates body and hat are unimportant. I would try making the blue in the pirates outfit lighter, or making the flag ligher or getting rid of it. MAybe also try making the lighter brown in the beard a little lighter, its a little hard to see.
