Baseless.

Wip journal via DA - http://mistress-jaeden.deviantart.com/journal/21947898/  Will post animated wip eventually.

28 colors. MSP.. Not anatomically sound, but better than most of my pieces.

*edit* Did some major adjustments after some fantastic advice from Fool.

This is just great, love that there is a male steampunk, not many makes males.

The outfit is great, love the hair, and the shading is wonderful

The only problem here is that the hair the cheek bones and the lips clearly give the inmpression of a women, edit those a bit and I reckon you're good there. Nice piece though, good job on the creases,5stars,6if you fix the gender issues.

yeah steampunk almost always= victorian (age of steam).  Top hats and canes and everything that goes with them.   otherwise it's just unsorted science fiction.  leather and techno is usually characteristic of cyberpunk.

i thought it was a lady.... good work

Here I am again... Yeah, I was going to ask if you had any other pieces that are related to steampunk?

user
Jaeden (Level 4 Team Leader) @ 12/25/2008 20:12
lol I'm actually totally facinated. I didnt know that there were so many subdivisions of.. 'punk' oriented genras.

user
AtomicTroop (Level 1 Rookie) @ 12/25/2008 14:36
I agree with Jaeden here. Steampunk should be light, victorian era style, maybe a bit elegant even. Cogs, tophats, clocks etc. are must of course. You (dogmeat) are probably confusing this all with cyberpunk. At least I see cyberpunk as, *ahem*, "dark, really leathery and really techno-y".
Also, this part about "1800's representation of steampunk".... Steampunk IS present inventions with victorian technology. It IS set in victorian era. Unless, of course, you might be taken apart from this version of steampunk because of Dystopia and others liek(not a typo) that.

Now that I made this clear... after a bit of thinking, I really consider this more of being clockwork punk than steampunk. Of course, clockwork punk is a subgroup of steampunk so it is also steampunk while it is clockwork punk.... Meh, that was a boring post to write.

Dogmeat - I guess I  see what you mean, (considering the term 'PUNK')  however the impression I had, was that steam punk was a punk-orientated representation of the steam era... which was during the 1800's..

I don't really know about its overall stereotype though. Just bits and pieces derived from some Final Fantasy concepts, and Deviant art representations. To be honest, My concept is derived from this funny image - http://images1.fanpop.com/images/image_uploads/Steampunk-Lincoln-steampunk-1038417_600_750.jpg

lolz Which Is why i wanted to add guns.. but failed miserably. They became vials instead. /embarassed

Adarias - Agreed.

Fool - Of course, You tend to have some good reference images, and where as I may not bother with a revision, I will more than likely learn from your advice for future pieces.  Don't feel obliged if you do not have time.

Nice feel of century.=) A few things spotted, if you are not sick to work on it anymore - i'll point it out.
Otherwise  - cool character.=)

BOY?! Boy oh boy.... Hmh... Well... That surprised me... As for the gloves? I just don't see gloves there, even after you mentioned it....

user
Adarias (Level 11 Bonsai) @ 12/22/2008 10:21
It's a nice piece but, while it's not exactly pillow-shaded, it seems very flat and frontal, the body in a broken perspective, like egyptian bas-relief.

user
Jaeden (Level 4 Team Leader) @ 12/22/2008 09:21

lol, hes actually  a boy.. as he's kind of lacking boobs, and hes also wearing gloves with those little pleats in them.

user
AtomicTroop (Level 1 Rookie) @ 12/22/2008 04:07
Ahh, I just love everything steampunk. The test tubes are a nice touch,  but her right hand seems a bit weird with those blue lines. Might want to try fixing that.

user
Ky3bMu4 (Level 8 Guerrilla) @ 12/22/2008 02:14
There are some anatomy issues but... 5/6

user
Damian (Level 10 Operative) @ 12/22/2008 01:29
Overall very good. A few anatomy problems, but who cares.
This is just awesome! 5/5
