well, he actually is just "posing" as a cool guy, im not really good with battle stances :P i think the problem resides on the arms. it may be fixed by rotating his left arm and puting it a lil lower, but its really difficult with paint X.x

i actually did put sime lightin on the flame, but a brighter color didnt really look good so i changed it with a dark grey.

Anyways, on to your artwork, It looks good but his pose seems kind of awkward. Is he in fighting stance mode? If so, shouldn't his legs be bent a little bit because his upper body seems to be in fighting stance mode? If he isn't in fighting stance, shouldn't his arms be a little more relaxed seeing that his lower extremities are?

Oh, and why not try placing some light (or shiny effect) on the dark flame on his head? I think that would give some cool like effects.

He's a bit hard to read, and the aa is a bit rough in a few places (the gold on the bottom of his breastplate, for instance).  Still, it looks great; love the design.
