It's about 90% pixel by pixel but the 256 shades of gray give it a smooth "less pixelled" look. But I did use an anti-aliasing tool on her top and the hair so no hard feelings about rejecting this.

I'll have a look back at some of my other Amiga pieces though. I have a lot that were 100% pixelled, so I hope to contribute something to this great site some time. :)

well, i normally defend demoscene-personell here, especially during the usual index painting debate, but in this special case i actually believe it's more index painting than pixel-art (as defined by pixeljoint).. of all your woman-pieces this is one of  the pictures with the least pixelarty look, so probably not the best picture to start with here at pixeljoint.. it has this feel of the beginning photoshop-era in demoscene-graphics =/

as you're new to this site, you also might not know that we have this unwritten rule to post references (no bothers), dunno if you grid-copied or traced it. as i have the original handy and to enlighten the others already: her name is caprice bourret, google imagesearch delivers this original: http://www.beena.com/images/photos/bikini/caprice-bourret-001-0.8311767578125-l.jpg

(easy find, as i had a winamp-skin based on exactly that motive back in the days =)

welcome to the joint still

Nice reproduction of an existing photograph(and of a nice lady to boot, heh), but this doesn't really fit our standard of what WE consider pixel art. some tools look like they may have been used in the process of making this, and for the Pixeljoint gallery, that's a bit unaccaptable. We're not saying that this piece is crap, or anything, just that for our users, and the better benefit of newcomers to the media of pixel art, pieces like this really do confuse and blur the line between what is considered pixel art, and hi-res digital art. Will have to send back for revision, but by the look of some of your pixelling in the piece, I'm sure you have the ability to make pixel great, the way the gallery accepts it.

Do you have a WIP for this?

Its nice stuff, but we only accept hand placed pixel art in here.

I believe you if you say its made on your amiga, but tools like smear (which you can use in Dpaint) are not allowed on works in our gallery.

If you say you really have made it with a pencil tool, you will only get it in if you can prove so, which will probably be hard.

You gotta be joking. At first glance it looks like a PHOTOGRAPH!

That is ace work if it really is pixelled. actually, the left down corner looks like the most clearly pixelled part so... I guess it really is.... Good work.
