This is just a little project that I began working on a couple days ago. It depicts a meteor crashing into the earth. I wanted to do something containing flames and water so this was perfect for that.
As it is my first pixel, I felt like I learned a lot from making it.

Wow, when I first saw this I could have sworn it was animated... the impact point dithering is really effective, IMO. The stars seem sort of lazy but the hazy-ness on the surface is awesome.
I see what you mean about the colors but I'm not sure if it would have created the same effect. Thanks for the tip though and I'll try to be more conservative with future pixels. By "pimped" do you mean the way its shaped. I'd agree with you there but I was not going for realistic look.
well, although im a bit disapointed of the use of colors(imo, you could save at least 5/6 colors with better use of that dithering. the transition works pretty well. that meteor flame could be a bit more realistic and way less "pimped", if you know what i mean.
