Strana Bagrovyh Tuch (The Land of Crimson Clouds) is a sci-fi novel about exploring of planet Venus. It was written by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky in 1957 and published in 1959, so it makes exactly 50 years since.

"Hius" is a photon rocket which is placed at the top of the picture. Actually it looks different by description in the novel, but I imagine it like I drew it.

Hius crew:
Krutikov - navigator
Dowgie - geologist
Ermakov - captain
Spitsin - pilot
Bikov - engineer, "desert specialist"
Yurkovskii - geologist

Then there is "Malish" vehicle on surface of Venus and, last, the view from a cockpit of "Malysh".

I experimented with this palette recently, so coincidence with current challenge is random.

Из космических - только "Стажёров", если честно. И мелкие рассказы вроде "Частных предположений".

When I drew this it reminded me of http://www.flipflopflyin.com/ (but he don't uses double-wide pixels), and your piece, if to draw some parallels, I think http://www.pixeljam.com/ goes in the same vein. Why? Because of . . - pointy eyes. But we here can sink in comparisons, roots and such (and it's interesting to chat about!), so maybe it's better to talk about our own egos and artistic endeavours (don't really know what this word about, but seems that it fits). What is interesting for me - is to make PA very small, but distinctive and interesting, to the point where PA is like a puzzle. It don't helps when it comes to designing games for 320x200, I think.
