well that will give you motivation to get better and better..

Not much motivation, but a little.......

I know, but your username could trigger an avalanche of complaints from other users that feel discriminated.

I did at one point, but hey. I don't have the greatest work do I?

hey i was just showing you how you could improve, and at the same time

not spamming your topic with nonart related suggestions.

Like hey you should use your own art for your avatar.....

Nice meeting you again, Fucbillgates.......

Thanks....I guess.

Ok i will not be a ass "like you" and give you some real feed back.

Here i did a edit. I changed the telescopes front and made all the

rest of it also have the same curve. i also picked some colors that have

higher contrast, and added some texture to the handle.

It's still looks weird but i made it as a guide to help you

get on the right path towards getting it to look better.

Here is the pic....

I know. I figured that out after I made this :(

What you've done now is just shade gradient-style :) Check out some pixel art tutorials because what this needs right now is more contrast and hue change. Also, search for gold-coloured things, like Larwick's trophies and this. Gold isn't reeeally yellow, it's sorta brown with yellow highlights.

Ok, is this better or worse?

user
Exquisious (Level 4 Lieutenant) @ 2/4/2009 11:40
I had the line full before, but I wanted to give it a more realistic feel, as if there was something in the reflection or something. It didn't turn out that great though. I'll fix it.

As Pawige stated, try to not centralise the highlight, move it up. I also think it might be better if you connected the dotted lines. Good work though! :)

user
Exquisious (Level 4 Lieutenant) @ 2/3/2009 13:10
It's still good though right?

Pawige (Level 3 Hatchet Man) @ 2/3/2009 12:54
If you upped the contrast and moved the highlight up a bit, and added a secondary light source shining on the bottom, it would really improve the readability of the shape here.

Finally some good comments. Thanks.

It's a simple pic but it's rather nice. :)
