bt then the problem arises as the blade doesnt seem to be really curved but rather more thick wich leads me to either add more colors to try to smooth out the blade or simply try what you did... I did spend some hours trying to figure a way to keep the smoothness of the blade consistent withou't losing its shape...
Here's a poor edit. To smooth it without adding extra colours I had to use dithered AA which may not be to your tastes. As a result the blade started looking a bit rounded so I tried adding some shine to better suggest bladeliness.
Everybody knows you've got to run over a cat a few times with the car before you stab a sword through it. Cats have a number of lives you've got to dispense of to finish them off properly, I can't remember exactly how many though.
But, yes, I agree with Mathias, the blade needs smoothing out. Looks likes it's been broken in three and poorly welded back together
Right now the sword looks crooked. If you're going for a falchion or katana type blade with a gentle curve in it you need some good AA to smooth it out.
