like i said in my comment, i wouldve done more with the sand, but that was for kicks, my focus was on the sprite.
Gob job with the hippo guy, but I think the sand needs a bit more shading.
This is probably because I'm partially colorblind, but the sand looks more like lava to me.
Even though, the sprite is simply awesome, very similar to the original.
I know, good job with the sprite though.
