I'd call it pixel art, but I agree, working at this size isn't helping you at all. It gives you more pixels to keep up with and the emphasis is moved from the individual pixel to large expanses of color and shape, which isn't really in the spirit of pixel art.
Helm and Doppelganger made some nice points about making "perfect lines" here.
I call that knitpicking.
I like the scale of this, the lines are well done considering this and the fact that this is the artists 3rd piece.
Try to keep the crits constructive in future.
Do you call this smooth curves?!
I'm so sorry Pahandle. I just try to be honest but sometimes I could seem so rude ^_^.
Thanks Quake, your critisism is much more informative and helpful to me. :)
Well, whilst doing this piece I figured out how to form lines properly and neaten them, as I haven't looked at any tutorials, prefering a "hands-on" appoach (I always do this, I'm stubborn like that.)
Thank you for your comments! :)
I think what you said, was completely idiotic. it obviously is pixel art, not all art needs to be 1 pixel lines and if you look at the line they've all been cleaned up and made into a smooth curve.
How can it be "just a huge portrait made in paint". Although, i said this i do think it isn't very challenging or by any means improving her/his pixel art, i do believe it is morer than just a potrait.

I suggest you work on something much smaller and aim to show more detail and texture, even if you're doing cell-shading.
Explicit deleted! This took me hours!
Oh well, back to the drawing board. :(
For the record, I used the idraw pixel program, not paint.
Thanks for letting me know!
This is not propperly pixel art. Is just a huge portrait made in Paint. The border line is horrible and the others lines (curves overall) look with no effort. It have no dithering and aliasing.
very nice shading! u should make a small sprite version!
