Reminds me of Earthworm Jim!
I reckon that a bit more work on his helmet would help to make it look that his head is inside it. At the moment, his feels a little like it's floating in front of it.
Cool and interesting character design.
@ adriprints
Its kinda hard to have an ostrich holding a gun but im just assuming
this whole things is rediculous
love it though lol
Holy crap! that is quite the optical illusion
I read looking left too.
I am enjoying the shape of the space suit. What a nice touch to include a little ostrich pooch belly. The right hand could be a bit more clear as to the material when compared to the left... is it leather? feather? rubber?
That's exactly what I thought, too. The head isn't readable enough. Only after some work am I able to distinguish it. And that's bad, your audience shouldn't have to work to see what you've created, it lessens the impact.
The space suit is boring. The terrain would be better if it didn't look so earthly - use more alienish colors. Is the hand holding the gun? It appears to be floating above and not connected - fix the fist and make the handle lighter. He may benefit from a plumy emu tail to complete that this is in fact an emu, or ostritch. Biggest issue is the head's readability.
Despite my gripes, I actually think it as a whole, is nice.
At first I thought it was looking to the left and the beak was it's ear. Kinda looks like a lamb when you look at it that way...
@JthmNny: This is true, but one of Cap. Ostrich's hands has articulated finger-type things and the other is smooth and more paddle-like. I think both choices are possible but somewhat inconsistent in this case.
Still love 'em either way (both the pun and the image).
