That's a bullshit excuse.
If you're willing to attempt to fix the hat in the WIP topic, then you should be willing to generally improve the piece. If you're going to enter a contest, you should at least do everything you can to make your piece great.
I agree with you. But as you can see, i'm not the greatist artist in the world....
Seems kinda like a cheap way to enter the contest.
If you really want to do something like this, at least add more atributes from Mario to it, such at the overalls or boots.
