Battle of the gods: In ancient times, the gods did not only chill around, drinking wine and enjoying the eternal life, they also played some kind of chess-like boardgames. This legendary play was between the god of the sky and the god of the earth. The first decade of this play was fair, but then one player begun to cheat (it is not passed down which one played unfair) and all this ended in a fight between those two gods, raging around the world causing enormous destruction. To stop this absurd fight, the greatest god himself interfered and punished the two fools with a eon of house arrest for each one. The game was paused, but it is very likely, that sometime in the distant future, the two gods will continue their game. ...hopefully the pieces won't get moved meanwhile.

Thanks a lot for your comments, I'm really happy that you enjoy the story and execution. Sorry for my late answer, but better late than never, heh.

I updated the preview. I dislike previews which promise big things and after clicking you get disappointed, so I made a really simple preview and then I hoped the full image would surprise the viewer. Of course, that doesn't work if nobody clicks at the preview, heh. Therefore I added some details from the full illustration to lure my prey, heh.

I agree with you about the sky and the rightmost moai. A added the moai short before finishing because I found the composition needed more weight at the right side. Therefore I didn't spend the same amount of time there as I did on other parts, the same with the sky. But after working that long at the picture straight, I simply didn't see it.

the left hand could've been shaded a tad better and the preview image doesn't give credit to the art itself.

cool idea and pretty well pixeled for the for part. The biggest problem I think is the maoi at the far right. You did the hands so well, which I would imagine would be more difficult, so I think you have the potential to improve the maoi a bit.
